Trinational Conference 2026 on AI and the Digital Transformation of the State (27 March 2026)

The Swiss Society for Administrative Sciences (SGVW) hosts the trinational conference (Switzerland, Germany, Austria) focusing this year on the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in public administration.

The conference addresses the central question:

How can digital technologies and artificial intelligence be leveraged without undermining the credibility, legitimacy, and steering capacity of the state?

The event brings together leading scholars and practitioners from academia, politics, and public administration, including representatives from federal authorities, sub-national governments, and universities from the three participating countries.

The conference also marks the conclusion of the trinational research project DIGILOG – Digital Transformation of Municipalities in Europe.
